Butterfly World

Butterfly World was opened in 1988 as a home to thousands of butterflies that gather in the exotic gardens, designed specifically to include the favorite flowers of each species. This park is the largest of it’s kind in the world, and also houses the largest Hummingbird Aviary, where you can wander through an enclosed garden while the tiny birds zip by all around you! The business was originally a passion-project of Ronald Boender, and later turned into a center for “farmed” butterflies sold to Zoos and Universities. Most recently, the business has opened up to support the “Bring Back the Butterflies” campaign to re-cultivate many of the natural habitats that had been lost due to American expansion and city growth, met with great success.
