Save The Date For The York State Fair In Pennsylvania This Summer

Fairs are a treasured part of summer all over the United States. However, did you know that the very first fair started right here in Pennsylvania? Yep, the York State Fair in Pennsylvania debuted in 1765. Back then, the fair ran for just two days. However, over the years, it has evolved into an epic annual fair that features a full menu of family-friendly fun.

Start planning your visit to the York State Fair, set for July 23 to August 1, 2021, which includes two full weekends jam-packed with fun.

The family-friendly fair features a ton of fun *and* unique events over the 10 days, including hot dog pig racing, aquatic acrobatic shows, and blacksmith demonstrations. Held at different times throughout the day and the week, many of the events are free.

In addition to a variety of food and drink vendors, the festival also hosts a contest to crown the York State Fair Queen.

Perhaps best known for its Agriculture Education Center, the York State Fair provides fair-goers with the chance to get up-close with and to learn more about farm animals and agriculture, in general.

America’s oldest fair certainly wouldn’t be complete without a full menu of concerts and live entertainment. Jake Owen, Alabama, and REO Speedwagon & Styx are among those set to perform. Tickets are on sale now.

Admission to the York State Fair costs $8 for adults 19 and older. Children and teens between the ages of six and 18 pay just $4 while kiddos five and under are free.

If you plan to spend a lot of time at the fair, consider purchasing the Fair Long Pass, which includes parking and comes with a $75 price tag.
