We’re quite fortunate in Pennsylvania to have the opportunity to see wildlife – from wild turkey and elk to deer and eagles – in their natural habitats. With some animals, however, we don’t have that luxury. Wolves, for example, are no longer found in the Pennsylvania wild, but you can get a close-up look at them at this wolf sanctuary in Pennsylvania.

For more than four decades, one family – the Darlingtons – has been rescuing and providing lifelong care and shelter for wolves and wolf-dogs who would otherwise have nowhere else to go.

Today, Wolf Sanctuary of PA welcomes visitors to join a guided tour of the sanctuary, spanning 80 acres, that’s home to more than a dozen beloved wolves, including Lucas, Cheyenne, and Spirit.

Make sure you wear sturdy, comfortable shoes as you’ll be doing a lot of walking. You’ll also want to dress for the weather. Tours set off rain or shine.
Tours begin with a bit of background on the sanctuary itself before your seasoned tour guide leads you through the sanctuary to see the wolves in a natural setting.

For a truly unique experience, reserve a spot during one of the Full Moon Fundraiser events. During the 2.5-hour, adults-only (16 and older) event, you can embark on a self-guided tour of the sanctuary.
