What’s Left Of This Legendary Swingers Resort In The Poconos Will Break Your Heart
Couples once retreated to this famous swingers resort to live out their fantasies. Now, the legendary Penn Hills resort is quietly falling into ruin. Keep scrolling for a peek inside the well-preserved remnants of this fantastical and raunchy resort, and be sure to check out the incredible footage from YouTube channel “This Is Dan Bell,” which includes fascinating before and after photos.
The resort was built in 1944 by Italian immigrants Frances and Charles Paolillo. Before becoming a swingers retreat, the resort actually started as a family-friendly restaurant and bar.
Eventually, swinging went out of fashion and the resort slipped into a decline. Though it stayed open until 2009, towards the end guests complained that conditions in the hotel had gone steeply downhill.
Today, the resort is being slowly reclaimed by nature. Ivy creeps along bedroom walls, paint peels off the walls and the famous velvet furnishings are covered in dust. Still, the resort maintains an air of cheeky glamour.
