The Stomach-Dropping Suspended Bridge Walk You Can Only Find In Pennsylvania
We can find adventure around just about every corner in Pennsylvania, especially if we enjoy hiking. This suspended bridge walk, for example, will lead us past some gorgeous natural scenery – flowing creeks, a cascading waterfall, and a massive boulder. However, one of the trail’s highlights is its beautiful suspended bridge.
A cozy state park at just 541 acres, Trough Creek State Park packs a whole lot of scenic punch into its relatively small size.
The 1.6-mile trail has earned a moderate rating due to its rocky and sometimes rough terrain. Your best bet is to start at the park office, if it's open, to pick up a paper map.
This is one of those trails where you definitely don't want to forget your camera or have waning batteries. You'll pass a gushing waterfall and cross over a picturesque footbridge.
Even if you visit in the spring or in the summer, make a point to stop back in the fall. The bridge is absolutely spellbinding when framed by the rustic colors.
Another of the trail's main highlights is the massive boulder - Balanced Rock. You'll also find scenic overlooks that offer sweeping views of the park.
