Thousands Of Roaches Swarmed A Pennsylvania Neighborhood And We’re Having Nightmares Forever

Like something from a horror story, thousands of roaches climbed out of a manhole in a Philadelphia neighborhood this past weekend. Residents of the Bridesburg section of the city were shocked and horrified, immediately taking cans of spray to the streets and stomping the bugs in an effort to halt the invasion. Here’s more on this terrifying story:

At the intersection of Salmon and Plum Street in Philly's Bridesburg neighborhood, an invasion of the creepiest order took place.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of cockroaches crept up from a manhole and began swarming the streets on Sunday.

There were so many of these crawlers, in fact, that the asphalt of the street was entirely covered. As soon as residents noticed what had happened, they took to the streets and began a counter-attack of spraying and stomping.

On Tuesday, officials from the Philadelphia Water Department came to the rescue. They flushed out the manhole with water and vacuumed out the remaining bugs.

Shortly after, the Health Department arrived to place insecticide in the sewer for future preventative measures.

While this event is certainly one of the creepiest to happen to this Pennsylvania neighborhood, neighbors agree that it undoubtedly brought them together.
