Winter’s certainly a beautiful time of the year, especially when the landscape is blanketed with snow. Nothing, in fact, can really compare to freshly fallen snow capping trees and covering lawns. If you want to get outdoors and breathe in the fresh winter air while admiring the winter landscape, climb aboard this 30-minute sleigh ride near Pittsburgh.
Just an hour from downtown Pittsburgh, in Cowansville, Dragon Run Forge & Livery welcomes guests to climb aboard a horse-drawn sleigh ride for a magical journey through the picturesque farm.
Bundle up, especially if you’re visiting on a cold winter day, for your 30-minute sleigh ride. You might even want to bring a blanket, so you can keep toasty warm.
All sleigh rides are private, and rides are now available all winter (weather permitting, of course). Daytime sleigh rides don’t have a set start time.
However, for a truly enchanting winter experience, reserve a lantern ride, which starts at 6 p.m. after the sun goes down. Aglow in the warm lantern light, the path promises a unique winter adventure.
Offered during the week and on the weekends, weather permitting, sleigh rides must be reserved ahead of time. You do not have to pay a deposit at the time you make your reservation.
You’ll receive a phone call the evening before your sleigh ride for day time rides and the morning of your evening ride to confirm that you’ll be there.
Sleigh rides, as of December 2019, cost $120 for rides during the day and $200 for evening rides. Prices remain the same whether you have two riders or more riders.
