This Waterfall Near Pittsburgh Is So Hidden You’ll Probably Have It All To Yourself
Allegheny County is home to a lone named waterfall – Fall Run Falls in Glenshaw – but we’re still within a reasonable distance from quite a few gorgeous cascades. While Ohiopyle Falls and Cucumber Falls are both popular and extremely easy to find, Springfield Falls is a bit more of a hidden waterfall near Pittsburgh. However, it’s well worth the drive to check it out. You may even have it all to yourself when you visit.
About an hour north of downtown Pittsburgh, Springfield Falls provides a picture-perfect backdrop for a leisurely day out.
If you follow the GPS coordinates, you shouldn't have any problem finding the parking lot that sits right across the street from Springfield Falls. The parking lot, however, is small.
If you're up for a bit of a challenge, you may also want to make your way to the base of the waterfall. The .01-mile trail is short and sweet, but it will take you down a hill.
