No matter how old you are, some things just never seem to lose their magic. Like those autumn hayrides at a local farm, the clip clop of the horses’ hooves and the rustic colors of fall all around us. Many of those hayrides culminate at the pumpkin patch or with a drink of fresh apple cider. Here are seven hayrides around Pittsburgh that will make your autumn awesome.

Celebrate fall with a hayride - and that's just the beginning - at Simmons Farm. Kicking off September 16, Simmons Farm offers a plethora of fun fall activities. Take a hayride to the pumpkin patch. Then, check out the rubber duck razes, two corn mazes, and human hamster wheel. Simmons Farm welcomes guests Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Carve time out this autumn to visit the Annual Fall Festival at Trax Farms. The hayride promises picture perfect fall views of the farm as you head to the pumpkin patch. Other Fall Festival activities include a three-acre corn maze, a bounce house, spin art, a rock wall, and a petting zoo. The Fall Festival runs on weekends, beginning September 30 through October, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Journey to the sprawling 400-acre Triple B Farms for the popular Fall Festival. Climb aboard a hay ride that will take you to the pumpkin patch. Other festival activities include duck derby races, a farm playground, meet the farm animals, and a rope maze. Triple B Farms Fall Festival starts the weekend of September 16 and continues through Halloween weekend.

Breathe in the crisp fall air while aboard a picturesque hay ride to the pumpkin patch at Hozak Farms. The farm's annual Fall Festival kicks off on September 30 and continues every weekend through October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hitch a ride with the wagon to the pumpkin patch or enjoy a scenic hayride through the woods. Fall festivities include pumpkin painting, face painting, and a corn maze. The farm also welcomes guests weekdays during October from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Pick pumpkins, paint pumpkins, watch the kids play on the playround or play games, and enjoy a hayride at Soergel Orchards annual Fall Festival. Soergel Orchards Fall Festival starts on September 23 and continues each weekend through October. Stop by between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Get lost in one of the area's biggest corns mazes at Coolspring Corn Maze after a scenic hayride. Coolspring Corn Maze boasts an assortment of activities, including an indoor and an outdoor corn maze, two 40 foot mountain slides, pony rides, and a pumpkin blaster. Fall festivities kick off on September 15 and go through November 5. Visit Fridays from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Explore Schramms Farms & Orchards on a hayride during the annual Fall Festival. Then, go pumpkin picking, ride a pony, or get lost in a corn maze. The Fall Festival also features such delicious foods and drinks as freshly made French fries, apple cider, candy apples, and hot dogs. Schramm's Fall Festival typically runs throughout October.
