Have you ever noticed how flowers just brighten the landscape? Even a vase filled with colorful flowers in our dining room or living room adds an extra dose of cheerfulness to our home. If you love stopping, smelling, and even picking the flowers, you can’t go wrong with a stroll through the fields of flowers at Simmons Farm near Pittsburgh.
Stroll through breathtaking fields of flowers at Simmons Farm in McMurray, where you can pick your favorites.
When you arrive at the popular farm, drop by the farm market to pick up a bucket and scissors and to get directions to the fields. (You'll have to drive to them.) You'll also have to pay a $5 deposit, which will be returned when you bring back the bucket and scissors.
Wear comfy shoes since you'll be walking through grassy fields and so you can fully enjoy the experience. Simmons Farms recommends cutting the freshest flowers, which will last the longest.
Be prepared for some uneven ground since you'll be in the fields. Kids 17 and younger must bring a parent along, and there's a one-bucket minimum for two adults.
Simmons Farm also offers pick-your-own fruit, such as strawberries and apples, when they're in season. It also hosts fall activities and an Easter egg hunt. You can even find your Christmas tree here.
