Wander through acres of pure natural beauty - wildflower fields, woodlands, and scenic vistas - at Dead Man's Hollow Conservation Area.
Once a vibrant industrial site duriig the 19th and early 20th centuries, Dead Man's Hollow has since been reclaimed by Mother Nature.
Still, as you hike, you'll discover whispers of the past - and remnants of the former quarry and pipe factory - and see plenty of today's natural wonders, including local plants and wildlife.
Climb the Enchanted Staircase, hugged by lush greenery as you journey toward...
The historic ruins of the more than century old factory.
Get a close up look at all that remains of a once-thriving business that employed locals and is, today, now tagged with graffiti.
Pass through a walking tunnel,
if you dare. Or, sit on one of the benches, that dot the landscape, to admire the view.
Dead Man's Hollow earned its name from the tales of supposed myths and hauntings that date back to the late 1800s.
Attend one of the events, such as a free guided hike, hosted by Allegheny Land Trust at Dead Man's Hollow.
Join other volunteers, for example , at the Work Out To Clean Up: Tire Haulin' Volunteer Day slated for September 24 from 9 a.m. to noon.
