Pittsburgh’s vibrant beer scene is best illustrated by the breweries that stretch across the city. Whether you want to embark on a brewery tour, enjoy a tasting, or have a meal, here are seven of the best breweries in Pittsburgh.

Sample some of Pittsburgh's finest beers when you tour the East End Brewing Company. The one hour tour will give you an inside look at the brewery and a chance to taste the beer's ingredients and the final product. East End Brewing Company is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Pull up a chair and enjoy a cold handcrafted beer - such as the fresh pot of Porter - as you dine on such delightful appetizers as soft pretzels. Visit Hop Farm Brewing Company Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 4:30 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Roundabout Brewery promises an ever-changing experience as its brews on tap change every month. Guests can visit the tasting room, which also features a limited food menu. Stop by Roundabout Brewery Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m, Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

A family owned brewery, Grist House Craft Brewery has crafted its own beers since 2014. Grist House Craft Brewery is open Wednesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Pittsburgh tradition since 1986, Penn Brewery welcomes beer lovers to tour the brewery then enjoy a meal at its onsite restaurant, which features such dishes as pierogies, salads, and flatbreads. Drop by Penn Brewery Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Spoonwood Brewery welcomes guests to enjoy a delicious meal - such as old fashion meatloaf - alongside a one of the brews on tap, such as the Killer Diller and the Cold Drip City. Visit Spoonwood Brewery Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

East End Brewing Company's Brewery Taproom in the Strip District features a generous selection of beers on tap with the current offering including Black Hop, Snow Melt Winter Ale, and Barrel-Aged Old Knobby. Find out what's on tap when you visit the Brewery Taproom Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
