Where do you put something when you want to keep it safe? Your sock drawer? A lockbox? The basement? The United States has a pretty foolproof spot: a six mile long, three mile wide abandoned limestone mine 220 feet underground. Iron Mountain rests in Boyers and holds some of our nation’s most prized artifacts and important records. The incredibly secure complex has never experienced a security breach.

The facility is privately owned and operated, though its biggest and most famous client is the federal government. Bill Gates is another of its most well-known clients.

Iron Mountain holds some truly fascinating items, from the remains of Flight 93, to original recordings of Frank Sinatra, to historical photographs of cultural icons like Marilyn Monroe. Curious to learn more? Watch the video below to see a rare walk-through tour of the facility.
