For many people, Christmas is simply the best season of the year. Magic is in the air…and cookies are in the oven! Pennsylvania, in particular, is a great place for Christmas traditions. The area was settled mainly by German immigrants, who imparted many traditions for the special holiday season. These are not the only reasons Pennsylvania is the best place to spend Christmas, however…

1. Candles in the windows make driving past homes in Pennsylvania such a festive activity.

2. Can you find the pickle on this tree? This is just one of the many Christmas traditions we enjoy.

3. The 26-point Moravian Star is a special symbol that has special significance in Pennsylvania.

The Lititz Moravian Church may be the only place in the country where you can see the 110 point Moravian star.

4. Christmas trees in America very well may have originated in Pennsylvania; the first record of a Christmas tree in America was in the diary of a Lancaster resident in 1821.

5. We are lucky enough to live in a region where we very often receive a snowy Christmas.

6. Bethlehem, PA is Christmas City, USA.

7. Not only is Pennsylvania home to Christmas City, USA, but Indiana County is the Christmas tree capital of the country.

8. Pennsylvania is home to some amazing ski and snowboarding slopes that many people visit to ring out the holidays, such as the Poconos.

10. Lastly, Pennsylvania is home to the largest free-roaming elk population in the entire country. Santa might recruit his new Rudolf here...
