The SS United States is one of the world’s last surviving ocean liners. As of 2016, only active ocean liner is the RMS Queen Mary 2.
In her prime, the SS United States broke the world speed record for a ship of her size: 45mph. The ship still holds the record for the fastest ocean liner to ever sail across the Atlantic.
Today, the vessel is held in a private shipyard. The cost to keep the ship here is over $50,000 per month, which is covered entirely through donations.
The SS United States Conservatory currently owns the ship and is looking for a buyer willing to restore the powerful ocean liner. Check out the footage of the SS United States below:
Do you have a few million to spend on a beautiful, aging ocean liner? If so, check out the ship’s website to put in an offer.
