Here Are 10 Things You’ll Never Catch Anyone From Pennsylvania Doing
Pennsylvanians are as diverse as the landscape that stretches across our beloved state. But, regardless of where we live in Pennsylvania or how different we are as individuals, we all share some common experiences because, well, we’re Pennsylvanians. For example, here are 10 things Pennsylvanians will never do.
1. Be unfriendly.
Pennsylvanians are inherently friendly. Sure, we might be grouchy sometimes but you certainly won't catch us being outwardly unfriendly to strangers or friends.
2. Disrespect our elders.
We respect our elders and expect that others will respect them too. After all, without them, where would we be today?
3. Complain of boredom.
Boredom in PA? Surely you jest. Pennsylvania's got plenty to do no matter where in the state you live and whether you prefer a good old-fashioned outhouse race or a relaxing stroll through one of the state's picturesque small towns.
4. Ignore winter weather warnings.
Winter weather on the horizon? There's only one thing to do if you're in PA. Head straight to the store to stock up on the essentials: Toilet paper, milk, and bread.
5. Buy a car on Sunday.
It's not that we don't want to buy a car on Sunday. Pennsylvania law just doesn't allow it.
6. Pass up a delicious snack.
How can a Pennsylvanian pass up a snack, especially living in the Snack Capital of the USA? Tastykakes, Herr's, Peeps, Utz, whoopie pie, shoofly pie...and that's just the beginning of a long list of delicious snacks made in PA.
7. Drive passively.
If you've ever driven on the turnpike, you can attest that Pennsylvanians aren't passive drivers. Not driving the speed limit? We'll pass you. Driving too slow in the fast lane? We'll let you know.
8. Complain about the weather.
Why get annoyed because you wake up to rain, sleet, or even snow? Pennsylvania often experiences all four seasons in one day so, if you don't like the weather now, wait a bit. It will surely change.
9. Lament about having nowhere to eat.
Pennsylvanians know good food - how to make it, how to eat it, and how to find the best restaurants in the state. If you're complaining about having nowhere to eat, you definitely aren't in PA.
10. Leave Pennsylvania forever.
Sure, we all leave Pennsylvania at some point in our lives. Some simply travel before returning home. Others move out of state. But, we always come back to visit the family, the friends, and the state that we will always love, that will always be home.
