Hike To These Mystical Rocks In Pennsylvania That Are Said To Have Healing Powers
Nature often provides us with a quiet sanctuary, a safe place where we can reflect and find inner peace. This hidden gem in Pennsylvania, for example, beckons visitors with its unique rock formations and its tranquil setting, where you can find quiet among the busyness of life. It’s even said to have healing powers.
Nestled on 19 acres in Bangor, Columcille Megalith Park draws more than 5,000 visitors each year - some in search of a quiet place for reflection and others out of sheer curiosity.
Many refer to this hidden oasis as the Stonehenge of Pennsylvania. However, its beginnings started on the tiny Isle of Iona, just off of Scotland's coast.
Inspired by his journey to the island, William Cohea traveled back to Pennsylvania in the 1960s and began work on Columcille Megalith Park, a private park that's open to the public.
The self-described "Celtic-inspired outdoor sanctuary" relies on donations for the upkeep of land and the structures. A donation of $10 is suggested for adults and $5 for children.
If you plan on visiting regularly, you might also want to sign up for a membership. With a membership, you'll have the opportunity to vote on business matters at organizational meetings.
