What stands today as a beautiful bed & breakfast saw its beginnings in 1909 when it served as the estate of Harry Byron and his family. Some of the structure's most impressive details, such as the scagliola columns and mahogany and chestnut paneling, were all part of the original building.
In 1953, the resplendent home was sold and became the Mercersburg Inn.
