It’s a wonderful thing when you can help inspire a love of nature in your child and see the wonderment in their eyes as they see all the interesting and beautiful things nature has to offer. The kids will love crossing the Great Allegheny Passage Bridge that overlooks the Youghiogheny River. It's the beginning of an easy, two-mile loop trail that is beloved by birders and hikers and is also great for fishing and camping.

The trail itself is an easy, mostly flat hike surrounded by gorgeous trees that are filled with birdsong.

Butterflies are becoming more scarce, so it would be lovely for your kid to get to see one up close.

There are rocks along the trail that are lots of fun for them to climb on and explore.

Various types of flowers adorn the trail and could inspire a game where kids can learn the names of them and seek out their favorite ones.

All sorts of interesting fungi can be found in so many different shapes and colors.

These flat rocks are the perfect place for a picnic as you can listen to the water, and perhaps you'll see frogs and fish!
