Pennsylvania is certainly known for quite a few significant events throughout history, for its sports teams, and for its famous rivalries, including Wawa versus Sheetz. PA’s also earned status as the Snack Food Capital of the World, and Kennett Square is the Mushroom Capital of the World. There’s also no shortage of iconic products from Pennsylvania. Here are just 10 of them.
Chocolate lovers the world over know that Hershey comes from Pennsylvania. Hershey’s Chocolate – from its famous candy bars to kisses – just might be the most famous brand to come out of Pennsylvania. It’s so popular that the charming town of Hershey pays homage to the famous chocolate.
Virtual hands up if you remember carefully ripping the paper off of your crayons as a kid, so you’d have more crayon to color with? Chances are those crayons were Crayola, made in Easton. Nothing beat the crayons in the big box, with a ton of colors, either.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you’ve got to admit that PEEPS stir some pretty strong emotions in people. Those who love the super-sugary treat can visit Bethlehem, home of the PEEPS factory, each December for the epic PEEPSFest.

We Pennsylvanians love our snacks, and that’s pretty evident, considering we live in the Snack Food Capital of the World. Herr’s is just one of the many snack food companies – along with Utz, Martin’s Potato Chips, and Snyder’s of Hanover – made in PA.
Heinz is the ketchup of PA, at least if you live in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh’s the home of the famous brand, where you’ll find it served just about everywhere you go – from Kennywood Park to PNC Park.
