This Frozen Carnival In Pennsylvania Is One Winter Activity You Won’t Soon Forget
Move on over, summer! Winter’s here and it’s hosting one of the coolest festivals of the year. That’s right. IceFest PA, a spectacular frozen carnival in Pennsylvania, will heat up January with a full schedule of events and plenty of frozen beauty. Ready to take a peek?
Chambersburg hosts its 16th Annual IceFest for four days to close out January 2018.
One of the highlights of the festival, of course, is the assortment of more than 80 ice sculptures that will decorate the town.
Snap selfies with the intricate ice sculptures. Watch professional ice carvers at work creating frozen masterpieces. And, join a scavenger hunt.
Don't just check out the ice sculptures. Zip down the double wide ice slide, free each day of the festival. The best part, besides, well, the thrill? The ice slide will be lit up with colorful LED lights.
Brush up on your cake decorating skills for the annual Icing on the Cake contest. Pros, aspiring bakers, and students can all enter their own cake creations that festival-goers will then vote on. The 2018 Icing on the Cake theme is "A Day at the Circus."
The Icing on the Cake contest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on January 27, 2018.
Listen up, chili lovers! Whether you've got a secret chili recipe that's to die for
or you just love to eat chili, IceFest PA's got you covered. The Chili Cookoff welcomes both pro and aspiring chefs to participate in the chili cooking contest. And, if you can handle hot stuff, sign up for the hot pepper eating contest.
The Chili Cookoff is set for January 28, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
How's your arm? Good enough to dunk a fellow Pennsylvanian in the Polar Dunk Plunge? Show festival-goers what you've got for a donation to Relay for Life and Leadership Franklin County.
Join the Polar Dunk Plunge on January 27, 2018, beginning at 12 p.m.
Dust off your running shoes for the annual Run Your Ice Off, a 5K that kicks off at 2 p.m. on January 28, 2018. Or, stand on the sidelines and cheer on the participants.
Prefer dancing to running? Then, the Snow Ball is for you. Before the dance gets underway, join a lesson on Swing and Cha Cha.
Kick up your heels and dance at the Snow Ball on January 26, 2018 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The dance class starts immediately prior to the ball and runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
IceFest PA in Chambersburg is slated for January 25-28, 2018.
