Nestled in the enchanting town of Jim Thorpe, often called the "Switzerland of America," the Harry Packer Mansion Inn dates back to 1874 when it was built by Asa Packer, the founder of Lehigh University and the Lehigh Valley Railroad.
The elder Packer then gifted the mansion to his son, Harry, upon his marriage. By the time Robert and Patricia Handwerk, bought the mansion in 1983, it was in dire need of repair.
Or, request a room in the charming Carriage House, which boasts two suite lofts and four luxurious deluxe rooms, all with queen beds and private baths.
The Harry Packer Mansion Inn also hosts Murder Mystery getaways, where guests will work to solve a murder of one of the Packers or one of their dear friends.
