How lucky are we to live in the Snack Capital of the United States? Any time we’re craving something sugary or sweet, well, we can easily pick up a snack – made right here in PA. And sometimes nothing satisfies our craving better than handmade pretzels. This old-fashioned pretzel bakery in Pennsylvania allows us to take a peek at the pretzel-making process and to buy an assortment of pretzel products.
Hammond Pretzel Bakery has been a Lancaster staple since it opened in 1931.
In fact, take a peek through the windows to watch the hand-rolled, sourdough pretzels as they're made. (Unfortunately, the bakery does not offer tours due to the facility's small size.)
Of course, a trip to Hammond Pretzel Bakery means buying plenty of goodies. Choose from a selection of hand-rolled pretzels, including regular salted, unsalted, extra salt, light salt, salty, and dark.
But, that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Try dark chocolate or milk chocolate covered pretzels. Other chocolate treats include peanut butter, milk chocolate, and white chocolate clusters.
Don't forget to check out the cans and boxes of pretzels. Hammond's Pretzel Bakery also sells souvenir t-shirts, Hammond's own mustard, and a delicious snack pack of pretzels and Hammond's mustard.
