When you’re in the mood to spend a leisurely day outdoors, you can’t go wrong with a visit to one (or more) of these six easy-access Pennsylvania waterfalls.
An easy and scenic two-mile hike along Pigeon Run Falls Trail will lead you to the beautiful cascade. Although it only stands about 10 feet tall, the waterfall gently tumbles over a series of rocks, making it absolutely breathtaking. The predominately flat trail is pretty remote, so don't expect to see too many other hikers on the path, which can get muddy. Sand Run Falls is fairly easy to access if you're up for a fairly lengthy stroll through Tioga State Forest. The 6.7-mile Sand Run Falls Trail meanders through the woods, leading to Sand Run Falls. A day at Ohiopyle State Park promises plenty of excitement. It's home to a gorgeous natural waterslide, perfect for cooling off in the summer. First, however, look for the sign that directs you to Cucumber Falls. Marvel at the 30-foot waterfoot from above - just steps from the parking lot - then stroll down a sets of stairs to see it from its base.
