The One Of A Kind Deer Park In Pennsylvania That Your Kids Will Absolutely Love
Deer are just an everyday part of life in Pennsylvania. We see the beautiful animals prance through our yards. Many of us still gleefully point them out, especially when there’s a mama and a baby, when we see them on the side of the road. Of course, we’ve also learned how to quickly steer out of a deer’s path on the road. But, how often do we get to feed and to pet them? Create unforgettable memories and get to see the deer up close at this deer park in Pennsylvania.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Herd the whole family into the car for an unforgettable adventure to Double Diamond Deer Ranch in Cooksburg and less than 45 minutes from Punxsutawney.
Meet the herd when you visit the ranch. And, during the summer, bottle feed the newest members of the herd. (Bottle feeding times are generally scheduled throughout the summer.)
Of course, you'll have the opportunity to feed and to pet the other deer, too. Just make sure you're at the park at 6 p.m. from May through August to give the friendly deer treats.
If you want to pet the deer, definitely visit during the summer months. Once fall and mating season roll around, deer stay in their own pens. And, to ensure everyone's safety, visitors are not allowed to touch the deer at that time.
Bringing the kids along? Then, spend some time in the playground that boasts an old police car, a limo, a fire truck, and slides. Keep an eye on your kids as they play, too, to help prevent damage to the vehicles and other playground equipment.
Admission to Double Diamond Deer Ranch is $8 per per person. Children younger than four are free. And, you can leave and return as you'd like throughout the day.
Create unforgettable memories at Double Diamond Deer Ranch, open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk in May and in November. Or, visit daily from 10 a.m. to dusk from Memorial Day through October 31.
