Mark your calendars for one of the most illuminating and magical festivals of the year. The Chinese Lantern Festival, held at Franklin Square in Philadelphia, will run from May 1 to June 30, 2019.

The 2019 Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival will feature 30 brand new, illuminated lantern sculptures that will transform Franklin Park into a virtual wonderland.

Once you enter the festival on a timed ticket, you can spend as much time as you want marveling at the glowing sculptures.

And, while the lanterns may be the masterpiece of the festival, you'll find plenty more to do, too. Each evening will feature traditional Chinese art performances, including acrobats and plate-spinning.

Performances will be held at the stage on the Great Lawn each evening at 7:30 p.m., 9 p.m., and 10:30 p.m.
