A Man Almost Died At A Colorado Resort But Then Something Miraculous Happened
It started out as a typical day for ski instructor and professional slackliner Mickey Wilson at Colorado’s Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. However, things soon took a drastic turn after he witnessed a ski lift dismount go horribly wrong. Here’s what happened:

After a couple of ski students canceled class, Wilson hit the slopes where he ran into three friends. What he didn't realize is that he'd one of their lives only moments later after a dismount from the ski lift went awry.

As Wilson and two of friends got off the ski lift, they quickly realized that their fourth skiing buddy was nowhere to be found. It was then they saw a man dangling lifelessly from the ski lift, his backpack caught on the lift and wrapped around his neck. He was unconscious.
While ski patrol had already been dispatched, Wilson used his quick thinking and slacklining skills to pull off a stunt that would end up saving the man's life. The 28-year old quickly climbed the ski tower and shimmed his way across the chairlift cable. Sliding 30-feet across the cable, Wilson descended down onto the chair only to realize he had forgotten to bring his knife up with him. Luckily just as he made his way onto the chair the ski patrol had arrived, throwing a knife up to him that he was able to grab on the first catch.

The man was cut free and fell into the powdery snow. Ski patrol performed CPR on him and was able to restore his breathing. The man was immediately taken to a Denver hospital and is expected to be okay.
Posted to both his Instagram and Facebook, Mickey Wilson took the time to personally recount the story in his own words. Read them below:
Sadly, ski lift mishaps are far from uncommon. Luckily, Wilson was in the right place at the right time. Have you ever visited Arapahoe Basin Ski Area?
