A Cleveland Killer Is On The Loose After Broadcasting His Truly Heinous Crime To The World

Ohio police are searching for a man who is accused of slaying a complete stranger on Easter and uploading a video of the killing to Facebook.

The suspect, Steve Stephens allegedly killed Robert Godwin, 74, and uploaded a video of the crime to Facebook. The murder occurred in northeast Cleveland near the Lake Erie shore. In the video, Stephens boasted that he had also killed 12 to 15 other people that same day, but authorities believe that isn’t true.

Stephens mentored foster children and has been described by friends as a quiet man with a good heart who has never been aggressive. In a series of posts on Facebook, the suspect said that he had “lost everything” to gambling.

In the video, Stephens is apparently driving around and threatening to kill a random person. He pulls up to a curb where the victim Godwin is standing and says “I found somebody I’m about to kill. I’m going to kill this guy right here. He’s an old dude, too.” He then asks the victim to say Stephens’ girlfriend’s name. Godwin appears confused but repeats the name. Stephens pulls out a handgun and though Godwin pleads with assailant, Stephens delivers a fatal shot to the victim’s head.

There has been some false information circulating regarding Stephen’s whereabouts, including that he is on his way to Akron or has been spotted in Painesville or Lorain. Police have stated that these rumors are false.

Stephens is black, 6 feet, 1 inch tall. He weighs around 244 pounds and is bald with a full beard. He was last seen wearing a dark blue or black and grey striped polo shirt and was driving a white Ford Fusion. The vehicle has temporary tags. Stephens is considered armed and dangerous.
