12 Things Everyone MUST DO In Oregon In 2016
With the new year approaching, there’s a lot to be excited for in 2016. From hiking in the woods to reading more books and living more sustainably, here are 12 great things that everyone in Oregon should do in the coming year.
12. Go on a hike.
Get outside to experience Oregon's natural beauty by taking a hike; especially if it's a trail you've never walked before.
11. Treat yourself.
Whether it's going to a spa resort or giving yourself a DIY spa treatment at home, take a little time to relax luxuriously.
10. Go skiing or snowboarding.
This winter our mountains have had some incredible snowfall, making it the best ski season we've seen in years. This new year, everyone should head up the mountain to take advantage of the snow-capped pines, mountain views, and hot cocoas in the lodge--and make some fresh tracks through the powder while you're at it!
9. "Do It Yourself"
Pick up a fun DIY Project, like this adorable shelf and teacup cactus garden.
8. Dance in the rain.
This december has been the rainiest in Oregon history. Live it up and let out your inner child! Dancing in the rain is so much fun, especially when there's a steaming cup of tea waiting for you inside.
7. Discover a new favorite restaurant or cafe.
Grab a coffee or a meal at a local business you've never been to before. Who knows, it could become a new favorite! Here's a photo of Seven Virtues Coffeehouse.
Take some time to volunteer and help out in the community.
5. Paddle down the Rogue River.
Grab a paddle boat, kayak, raft, or even an inner tube for a ride down the Rogue River.
4. Take a class or join a club.
This year, make the resolution to participate in your local community by taking a class or joining a club. Taking a class in knitting, glass blowing, gardening, or dancing, or joining a recreational sports team, or book club are all great ways to learn a new skill, make new friends, and break out of your comfort zone.
3. Read lots of books.
There's nothing better than diving into an amazing book.
2. Go camping.
Pitch your tent somewhere beautiful for a wonderful weekend adventure.
1. Make a resolution to live more sustainably.
Whether it means shopping at the local farmers market, riding your bike to work, or starting a compost bin, the world would be a better place if everyone resolved to change one thing in our lives to reduce our carbon footprint.
