Stay Overnight At This Spectacularly Unconventional Treehouse In Oregon
Saul Zaik was a talented Oregon architect who designed some incredible mid-century modern homes and buildings during his career. One of his most unique is a treehouse that incorporates the mast of a World War II ship, and you can stay overnight here! Check out the Saul Zaik Treehouse, offered on Airbnb.com.
This unique abode is tucked away amongst the foothills above Portland, and it's unlike any treehouse you've ever seen before.
The home was built in 1971, and the owner asked Zaik to incorporate the 67-foot-tall mast of the USS O'Hara, a World War II-era ship, into the design. As a result, the home is a beautiful combination of modern design and history.
When you arrive, you'll be greeted by beautiful gardens surrounding the home. You'll also meet Bukowski the Cat, who lives here with the home's current owner, Lance.
Lance will be happy to give you a tour of the upper level, which includes some beautiful architecture and views. Then he'll show you to your private downstairs suite.
The Saul Zaik Treehouse is located inside the 200-acre Marquam Nature Park, which offers more than seven miles of trails, so you can take a stroll through the trees during your stay here.
