You Won’t Want To Miss This Epic Sandcastle Festival On The Oregon Coast
The Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest is a wonderful event that takes place on the Oregon Coast each year. Featuring amazing sandcastles, cash prizes, a beach bonfire, live music, and more, this unique event is positively extraordinary.
Every summer, the shore of Cannon Beach is transformed by an incredible sandcastle building competition.
This whimsical competition takes place right on the beach, where numerous professional (and non-professional) sand castle builders sculpt unique, intricate creations out of nothing but sand and seawater.
The celebration goes beyond the competition, however. As the sun sets, there's a big bonfire on the beach, as well as live music performances. You can also participate in a 5K run (or walk) on the following morning.
This event is fun for the whole family. You can come for the day or book a room at one of the numerous hotels and B&Bs in the area. Rooms fill up quickly, so you'll want to figure out your accommodations in advance.
One of the things that makes this experience so special (in my opinion) is the temporary nature of it. As the tide slowly comes in, these wonderful creations are destined to dissolve back into the sea.
