Every city has obscure and strange laws that make you wonder why they exist. In Portland, ours make us wonder what had to have happened to make these crazy laws come about. You’ll ponder the same thing after reading this list of extremely weird laws in Portland:
1. It's illegal to walk down the street with your shoes untied.
2. Performing a wedding ceremony on an ice skating rink is against the law.
3. You can't park your truck on the street.

4. Whistling under water is illegal.
5. You can't wear your roller skates into a bathroom.
6. It's unlawful to stand, lay, sit, or climb on any public restroom fixture that isn't intended for that purpose.
7. It's illegal to have a minor anywhere other than buckled up in a seat in a moving vehicle.
8. You can't ride a sled that's attached to a car.
No fun!
9. You can't have your car door open for longer than is necessary.
10. In between the hours of 9pm and 5am, it's illegal to drive in areas marked as "traffic congestion throughfare" more than twice.

11. Although it may be tempting, it's unlawful to sit, stand on, or lean over a bridge in Portland unless you get permission from a government agency.
12. You can't fix your car outside the residence of a single family dwelling if it takes longer than two days within one week.
