These 8 Incredible Farmers Markets In Portland Are A Must Visit
Let’s face it. We have some of the best farmers markets in the country. Whether you want fresh produce, ready-made foods, or one of the best flower bouquets you have ever seen, Portland has a farmers market to answer your needs. Here are some of the best the city has to offer. If you get a chance, stop on by to see what the fuss is all about.

1. Portland Farmers Market at Portland State University
The crown jewel of Portland Farmers Markets, this weekly, year round event features up to 140 vendors during its peak in the summer and brings in more than 20,000 shoppers weekly. It takes place on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2 pm March through October and 9 am to 2 pm November through February.
2. Hillsboro Farmers Market
Dating back to 1982, a Saturday farmers market takes place in the historic downtown area and a Sunday one at Orenco Station. Operating from May through October, the Saturday market is open from 8 am to 1:30 pm and the Sunday market is open from 10 am to 2 pm.
3. Tigard Farmers' Market
Offering the usual blend of fruits and vegetables, along with local craft foods and spirits, this market is an asset to the community. The Kids Sprouts Community Garden allows kids to get a taste of planting; this and other family-friendly events makes this market a winner. The market takes place on Sundays April through October from 9 am to 1:30 pm in the Public Works parking lot.
4. Lake Oswego Farmers Market
This market's lovely location is perhaps its biggest draw. Situated along Millennium Plaza Park on the tip of city's namesake lake, the market features over 80 venders throughout the season, offering not only produce, but a wide variety of ethnic foods as well. The market also features a Farm Fresh Kids program for families. The market takes place May through October from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
5. Milwaukie Farmers Market
Located just off of the new MAX Orange line in Milwaukie, this market is in the perfect location for easy access. With plenty of room to move around, this is an expansive and fun market with plenty of produce and food offerings. The market takes place on Sundays from May through October from 9:30 am to 2 pm.
6. Portland Farmers Market at Shemanski Park
This midweek farmers market has been a downtown mainstay for nearly a decade. Featuring a wide range of ready-to-eat foods for downtown workers, as well as all the favorites when it comes to produce, this market is a welcome opportunity to stock up on produce midweek. The market operates Wednesdays from May through November from 10 am to 2 pm.
7. Hollywood Farmers Market
One of the few year round markets in the city, the Hollywood market has grown to over 50 vendors since its inception in 1997. Located in the Grocery Outlet parking lot, the market operates on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm April through September and 9 am to 1 pm on the first and third Saturdays December through March.
8. Gresham Farmers' Market
On the east side, the Gresham Farmers Market is king. In operation since 1986, the market features a wide variety of produce, prepared foods and crafts, and takes place on Saturdays from May through October from 8:30 am to 2 pm in historic downtown Gresham.
