If You Live Near Portland, You’ll Want To Visit This Amazing Park This Winter
If you want to escape into the great outdoors this winter, the White River West Sno-Park is a great place to make that a reality. This expansive winter wonderland is perfect for sledding and snowshoeing, and has some killer views of Mt. Hood and the tree-lined forest surrounding it.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Situated at 4250 feet, this sno-park is at just the right altitude to get plenty of the white stuff, making it a great location for all your family winter sporting activities.

Sledding is king here, just make sure you have plenty of room and stay away from the river.

If you follow those simple rules, you are bound to have a blast flying down the rolling hills all around.

There is a year-round bathroom at the park, which is a serious bonus, but there is not much else, so be sure to bring plenty of snacks and drinks.

Be prepared for a day of fun in complete wilderness, including bringing chains for your car in the case of bad weather.

It is beautiful and peaceful at this undeveloped park. There are spots for 200 cars to park, so there should be plenty of room to accommodate you.

A Sno-Park Permit is required for parking November 1 through April 30, so be sure to get one before you go.

To reach White River West Sno-Park, take 26 to the Highway 35 Junction and follow 35 to the park, which is well-marked from there.
