We know money doesn’t necessarily buy happiness, but it does have an impact on the quality of life for a community. Across Oregon there are many cities in which their residents are struggling economically. Here are 10 such places.

With over 25% of residences below the poverty line, it's no wonder the annual average income is a mere $10,570.

This city was named after a Klamath family chief around 1864, unfortunately it has falled on hard time with people pulling in around $9,604 a year.

This unincorporated community just west of Salem has an annual income of just $9,489. Yikes.

Aside from a market, the potato shed and trout farm are the main places of businesses in Malin. It's no wonder that the average income here is about $10,000.

40% of this Marion County city is just below the poverty line earning around $9,900 a year.

This city along the Snake River relies on onion and potato farming for work so it's no surprising that they make around $10,317 a year.

A few centuries ago this was a gold rush town, now sadly caves are the main attraction helping pull in about $10,566 annually for the good people of Cave Junction.

Another gold mining town that now only has two employers: a general store and a lodge. Therefore the average annual income amounts to an about $8,024.

With about 21 people residing here in this sort of ghost town they still manage to somehow make $8,857 a year.

This unincorporated community on an Indian Reservation holds about 2,431 people that earn $8,583 on average,
