Here Are The 9 Most Peaceful Places To Go In Oregon When You Need A Break From It All
Life can certainly be stressful, but luckily for us, Oregon has tons of beautiful, peaceful places to unwind and relax. Here are nine of our favorites.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

If you want to get far, far away from other people, Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is the perfect place. It covers 652,488 in remote eastern Oregon, and has tons of hiking, fishing, and recreation opportunities.

It's possible to find peace and quiet, even in the middle of a big city! The Portland Japanese Garden has pretty ponds, bonsai trees, and several themed gardens to stroll.

You'll find pretty Paulina Lake about 25 miles south of Bend. Drop a line to see if you can catch a fish, and bask in the beautiful scenery while you wait.

Find your inner Zen in the Alvord Desert. This dry lakebed covers 84 square miles, so you'll feel as though you have the place to yourself.

A stroll along the cliffs of Shore Acres State Park offers ocean views and wildlife, but before you head for the trail, stroll through the pretty gardens.

Cottonwood Canyon State Park is an underrated gem near The Dalles. Fish for smallmouth bass in the John Day River, hike the canyons, and stay overnight for some incredible stargazing.

Catch some killer views of the Willamette Valley when you take the Mount Pisgah hike just outside of Eugene. It's just over three miles out and back, and the scenery is stunning.

The majestic Wallowa Mountains are a favorite playground for many Oregonians. Take the Hurricane Creek Trail to immerse yourself in the Eagle Cap Wilderness.

Not far from the much more popular Cannon Beach, Arch Cape offers a little more peace and quiet - and the same stunning scenery you expect from a Northern Oregon Coast beach.
