As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
When you’re looking for a place to stay overnight where you’ll be surrounded by Oregon’s natural beauty, you have tons of great choices. You’ll find lodges, campgrounds, yurts, and more in the Beaver State’s national forests, but if you want a truly unique place to lay your head, you’ll book a stay at a fire lookout tower. Check out the Green Ridge Fire Lookout:

You'll find a futon, propane stove and refrigerator, oven, and heater inside, as well as a few lights. Bring your own bedding, toilet paper, garbage bags and drinking water. There's a vault toilet available nearby.

The Green Ridge Lookout is open for overnight stays from May through mid-November. Reservations are available six months in advance, and they book out the moment they open up, so be prepared to hop online quickly to claim your reservation. The cost is just $40 per night!
