13 Little Known Beaches in Oregon That’ll Make Your Summer Unforgettable
There’s no better way to spend a summer afternoon than at one of Oregon’s amazing beaches. From secluded sandy coves to dramatic, rugged seascapes, Oregon is known for its stunning coastline.
Last summer, we brought you a list of Oregon’s most iconic beaches. This year, we’ve put together a new list of some of the most beautiful lesser-known beaches on the coast. Grab your folding chairs and picnic baskets and head to one of these majestic beaches for an unforgettable adventure.
1. Harris Beach
Located just north of Brookings is the stunning Harris Beach. This scenic stretch of the coast is dotted with incredible sea stacks and serene beaches. It's also a great place for camping and picnics.
2. Cape Arago State Park
Cape Arago is a majestic, rugged state park on the coast. Here you'll find rocky coastlines, ancient forests, and secluded sandy coves like the one photographed above.
3. Arch Cape
This gorgeous cape is only four miles south of Cannon Beach, but it's much more secluded than its famous neighbor to the north.
4. Cape Kiwanda
Located near Pacific City is the beautiful Cape Kiwanda. This amazing beach has unique rock structures, dunes, sandy beaches, and gorgeous views.
5. Boardman State Park
This lovely state park in southern Oregon has incredible scenery and offers opportunities for hiking, picnicking, relaxing, and especially sightseeing.
6. Port Orford
This charming fishing village in Curry County is home to a spectacular beach and surrounding coastal scenery.
Located in Coos County where the Coquille River meets the sea, this lovely town is home to one of the most unique and beautiful beaches in Oregon.
Yachats is located near the amazing Cape Perpetua (featured in our last beach article) but it also has an amazing beach right in town.
9. Seal Rock
This gorgeous beach in Lincoln County has lovely sandy beaches with dramatic rock formations.
10. Otter Rock
Located in Lincoln County, this gorgeous beach is perfect for surfers, birdwatchers, and anyone who loves the beautiful Oregon Coast scenery.
This spectacular beach has lots of great recreation activities like fishing, golfing, and relaxing on the shore.
12. Ecola State Park
This amazing stretch of shore on the coast of northern Oregon is incredibly beautiful. There are picnic tables, hiking trails, sandy beaches, and incredible viewpoints like the one photographed above.
