There’s No House In The World Like This One In Oregon
Frank Lloyd Wright is among the most famous modern architects – but did you know that one of the houses he designed is right here in Oregon? It’s called the Gordon House, and it’s located in the Oregon Garden in the lovely town of Silverton. This historic house is now a museum, and offers tours to the public.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. This unique house was built between 1957 and 1963, but the architect unfortunately never got to see the finished project; he passed away before it was completed. It's the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in the Northwest that's open to the public.

Inside the house, you'll find fascinating designs, floor-to-ceiling windows, gorgeous natural light, and two balconies.

Frank Lloyd Wright is known for his clever floorplans which incorporate subtle storage spaces to maximize open space within the house.

Here's a photo showing the detail of the interesting woodwork on the windows.

Check out the futuristically-manicured backyard. The house is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A ticket to tour this fascinating place costs $15 for general admission, $5 for students, $10 for overnight guests, and is free for kids.
