The Oregon Coast is full of stunning beaches that’ll make you feel like you’ve been transported to another world. That being said, there’s a beach hiding in the small town of Bandon that’s home to some of the most unique, enchanting scenery imaginable. Prepare to be blown away by this one of a kind Oregon Coast destination:
Located in the charming town of Bandon, Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is a stunning section of the Oregon Coast that's home to the most majestic, otherworldly scenery. This easily accessible beach and viewpoint is a fantastic place for a seaside getaway.
Face Rock is an amazing place for birdwatching, hiking, picnicking, or simply relaxing on the shore. At low tide, you'll be able to view gorgeous tide pools full of colorful starfish and anemones.
All along the clifftops are beautiful vantage points and picnic spots. A short trail leads down to the beach where you can walk for miles in either direction, exploring the gorgeous scenery up close.
When you visit on a clear morning, you might stumble across the unique sight of a large, beautiful labyrinth sketched intricately into the sand. A group of local artists create these transitory labyrinths that'll provide you with the most enchanting, tranquil walk.
Check out this calendar to see when they'll be drawing the next labyrinth.
There's a fascinating Native American legend from the Nah-So-Mah tribe that describes Face Rock as the head of a beautiful princess who was captured by an evil sea spirit and turned into stone while she stared up at the moon. To this day you can see the silhouette of her face if you look closely at the large sea stack.
