What’s the oldest covered bridge in Oregon?

While dates can get a little hazy, the Lost Creek Covered Bridge was built in 1881, and is considered to be Oregon’s oldest covered bridge. While it was once slated for demolition, has been kept up and preserved over the years in a remote area east of Medford. The oldest covered bridge in Lane County (where the above covered bridge road trip is located) is Mosby Creek Covered Bridge. It is the only covered bridge that is still part of Cottage Grove’s roadway infrastructure.

How many covered bridges are there in Oregon?

Covered bridges are a relic of a bygone era, and are becoming increasingly harder to find. Today, the Beaver State is home to some 54 covered bridges, many of which are located in none other than Cottage Grove! Cottage Grove, Oregon, is known as the “Covered Bridge Capital of the West,” and features six beautiful and easily accessible covered bridges. Definitely check out the above road trip and plan to visit some of these historic and charming structures in Oregon.
