It’s also home to the extraordinary Cascade Streamwatch Trail, a short hike that leads through stunning scenery to an incredible underwater viewing area where you can peer through a large window into the Wild and Scenic Salmon River.
The Cascade Streamwatch Trail, located within the beautiful Wildwood Recreation Area, is an incredible hiking trail that will lead you on an unforgettable adventure.
You'll step into a room that allows you to peer through large windows right into the Salmon River. You'll see the flowing water with speckled light filtering through, and at the right times of year you'll be able to see fish swimming past.
For a slightly longer excursion, you can pair the Cascade Streamwatch Trail with the Wetlands Trail, a breathtaking boardwalk trail that leads through unique wetlands scenery. This trail is also a .75-mile loop.
While you're here, there are plenty of opportunities to relax, play, and explore. Feel free to pack a lunch or snack, as there are many lovely picnic areas.
