Head to the town of Poteau and look for Cavanal Hill off in the distance — standing at 1,999 feet above sea level, making it only one foot short to be classified as a mountain. Once you travel up the four and a half-mile road to the top, you'll see the famous Cavanal Hill Rock. The drive takes about 30-40 minutes since the road is windy and has a slow speed limit.
