It’s no surprise to most of you that Turner Falls is home to the tallest waterfall in the state. It’s one of the top summer attractions in the state, but did you know it’s actually even more beautiful in the the fall? It sits in the middle of some of the oldest mountains in the country, and as the leaves change to bright hues of autumn, the whole place is one, big scenic masterpiece.
Turner Falls Park is located just six miles from downtown Davis in south-central Oklahoma in the heart of the Arbuckle Mountains.
The waterfall splits into several cascades as it tumbles over the cliff above the drop. The falls are 77 feet tall - the tallest in the state. It's the perfect place to cool off on a hot, summer day, but it's also absolutely stunning in the fall.
The water that flows from the falls is crystal clear and ice cold. It's one of those places where you can just sit for hours and enjoy the mist as the water flows down from above.
Nature enthusiasts will love the nearby hiking trails and hidden caves in the mountains. And the best part is, if you visit during the fall, you don't have the crowds like you see in the middle of summer.
