The Heavenly Garden In Oklahoma You’ll Want To Visit This Spring
One activity you’ll want to make sure you experience this spring is a visit to Tulsa Botanic Gardens. This botanical garden covers 170 acres just west of downtown Tulsa and boasts some of the most beautiful flower and plant displays in the state. Take an afternoon stroll and meander along the pathways as you visit this heavenly garden that’s in full bloom.
Tulsa Botanic Gardens is located just northwest of downtown Tulsa at 3900 Tulsa Botanic Drive in Osage County.
The focal point of the garden is the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Floral Terraces that features the Garden Cascade - a six-foot wide water runnel that flows down from the top of the hillside into the lake. Thousands of spring bulbs are in bloom and are one of the most impressive in the region.
Visitors can explore the four levels located in the terraces and enjoy the trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, roses and perennials, while taking in the views of downtown Tulsa.
The Children's Discovery Garden is a favorite spot of young guests. The Spring Giant is a 15 ft. stone face that is the focal point of this experience-based learning garden.
The Lakeside Promenade surrounds the seven-acre lake and is the main pathway from each garden section. It features a three-quarter mile pathway that is surrounded with beauty on every side.
Tulsa Botanic Gardens is open Tuesday–Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For a select time during the spring and summer, the garden is open from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. for late night Thursdays.
