Cool Off This Summer With A Visit To These 4 Oklahoma Waterfalls

Oklahoma summers can get quite hot and this summer is no joke. We are already pushing over 100 degrees multiple days in a row and everyone is searching for ways to stay cool. Luckily, Oklahoma is home to several waterfalls that offer crystal-clear cold water and we found four of them that are perfect to visit during the summer.
1. Little Niagra at Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Sulphur
Located inside the Chickasaw National Recreation Area is Travertine Creek - a gorgeous creek that runs through stunning scenery. The creek is not only beautiful but it is also the perfect spot to cool off in summer, as it maintains an average temperature of 65 degrees year-round.
Along the creek, you'll find Little Niagara, a fun waterfall swimming hole that resembles the iconic Niagara Falls. The gorgeous blue and green colors of the creek make it a popular destination during the hot, summer months.
Bluestem Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Sooner State. There is a 0.7-mile loop trail right by it if you want to hike or you can park in the free parking lot and walk about two minutes to the falls.
Swimming is allowed in the pool area below the waterfall. In fact, people bring rafts and flotation devices and will relax in the water all day long. Be sure and bring all the supplies you need...there are no vendors. And, there is no charge, so it's a fun, free activity!
3. Presbyterian Falls on Mountain Fork River, Broken Bow
This little waterfall is no Niagara, but it is a spectacular spot to enjoy kayaking and freshwater rapids along the beautiful tree-lined Mountain Fork River. Presbyterian Falls is one of the most beautiful hidden places in Oklahoma.
This gorgeous area is home to the largest waterfall in the state and a huge swimming area open to the public. It’s tucked away in the Arbuckle Mountains, along Honey Creek, and is a summer adventure to remember. Not only can you enjoy swimming in the cold water but there are lots of areas to explore in the park too.
This isn't your typical swimming pool. The 77-foot waterfall cascades into a natural pool and it's one of the most gorgeous places in the state.
