Which Oklahoma byways are the most scenic?

Anyone who accuses Oklahoma of being “boring” in any way has clearly never experienced it for its splendor. Oklahoma is so much more than just never-ending plains; the byways in the state highlight the “best of” this already beautiful place, so which ones can be trusted to take drivers on the best, most scenic adventure? Any of them, really, but our favorites include the Talimena National Scenic Byway, which is a beyond breathtaking adventure through the Ouachita National Forest. It’s 54 miles of mountainous, foresty fun – right here in Oklahoma. Another incredible one that comes to mind is Route 33, which showcases the beauty of the plains and prairies of rural Oklahoma.

Where are some scenic places in Oklahoma?

Well, how much time do you have? Because, seriously, there’s so much beauty jam-packed into the state of Oklahoma that it’s tough, if not impossible, to list them all in a brief paragraph or list. If it’s an amazing view you’re after, we recommend climbing to the top of Mt. Scott, in the Wichita Mountains. The Mount Scott Overlook is incredible! If you’re looking for scenic forests and waterfalls, Natural Falls State Park is calling your name – the lush, green paradise and the endless sound of flowing water will invigorate and relax your soul.
