The Scenic Amish Country Route That Leads To 5 Old-Fashioned Bakeries, A Furniture Store, and More
Oklahoma doesn’t have very many Amish communities or businesses but the few we do have offer amazing products, baked goods, tasty foods, and more. If you’re interested in visiting some of these Amish businesses, we put together a one-day road trip that will take you to 5 of them. Follow along below or check out the Google map for exact directions!
This fun day trip is only 90 miles long so you can easily visit all 5 places with time to spare. The road trip takes place in eastern Oklahoma so the drive along the way is filled with trees, hills, and beautiful scenery.
The trip starts in Tulsa at Amish Crafted Furniture, a store that only sells furniture handcrafted by the Amish craftsmen of Indiana. All the furniture is solid wood and of amazing quality. Even if you're not looking to purchase new furniture, you'll want to stop in and browse...sometimes they also sell local Amish baked goods.
The next stop will take you to Claremore to Front Porch Bakery, home to some of the best Amish baked goods made from scratch daily. They have mouthwatering cinnamon rolls, a variety of pies, fresh bread, pecan rolls, and many more homemade treats.
For a delicious home-cooked meal, head to Dutch Pantry in Chouteau and enjoy their all-you-can-eat Amish buffet. It’s a no-frills, laid-back buffet joint that’s perfect for big appetites and hungry travelers. They’ve been serving their Amish specialties since 1986 and it’s everything you’ve dreamed of
The Amish Cheese House is a local shopping and dining gem in the small of Chouteau. Sure, they have over 40 different kinds of cheeses but you’ll find so much more than cheese here. The store features over 7,000 square feet of homemade jelly, noodles, candy, fudge, meats, cheeses, and more. Plus, they have a cafe that serves sandwiches made from homemade bread and cheeses from the Amish community — and everything is so fresh and delicious.
Indulge in tasty comfort food at the Amish Country Store & Restaurant. On top of the restaurant, they have a store that sells homemade fudge, jellies, jams, and more. They sell a variety of Amish goods from local Oklahoma communities and you'll love the charming atmosphere and superb service.
