When Oklahomans travel out-of-state there are a few definite “clues” as to where they are from. They all don’t wear overalls and drive pick-up trucks but there are some funny things they do and say.
.) This is how they park when there is a snowstorm.
.) They are always checking the weather...not just for tornadoes but because the weather changes every 5 minutes.

.) They call ALL soda Coke or Pop.

.) They wear t-shirts about God, guns or football.
.) They pronounce Miami, FL...My-am-uh...since there is a town in Oklahoma called Miami but pronounced My-am-uh.
.) They wave at others while driving.
.) If they hear the word boomer, you will shortly hear sooner.
.) They make sure they have change in the car when driving on the highway and are shocked when you can drive across a state and not have to pay tolls.

.) When you hear them say they are "fixin" to go to the beach.
.) They start talking about how much they love Oklahoma when they get in REAL traffic.
.) They think all tea comes sweetened.
.) You will find them getting angry at the waiter when they find out there is no "queso" at Mexican restaurants.
.) Admiring roads without potholes is the topic of conversation while driving.

.) They ask for ranch on the side with everything.
.) When chicken fried steak, fried okra and mashed potatoes are their favorite meal.
I was in an airport in Phoenix, AZ last year wearing an Oklahoma backpack and across the terminal I hear shouted, “Boomer!”…of course I shouted back, “Sooner!” Which one of these can you relate to the most?
