Take A Paved Loop Trail Around This Oklahoma Lake For A Peaceful Adventure
The Lake Hefner Trail is a beautiful trail that is 9 miles long and circles the breathtaking Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. The stunning views of the golf course, lake, marina/sailboats, and charming lighthouse make this trail a favorite. There are also numerous restaurants and various stopping points along the way. The best part about this trail is that it is essentially flat. So walkers and outdoor enthusiasts of all skill levels will enjoy their time taking in the sites.
One of the more iconic photo spots throughout the Sooner State has to be the Hefner Lighthouse. On this trail, you'll pass by it and it's more of a scene from the east coast than the Sooner State. You can park at the lighthouse and start your walk here or there are other access points you'll find along the road.
Regardless of the temperature outside, when you are walking along this trail there is almost always a breeze off the water that makes this experience even more rewarding. You don't have to walk the entire loop, just turn around whenever you're getting tired and head back to your starting point.
With both indoor and outdoor seating, Louie's is a perfect place for a full meal as well. But don't get distracted here, keep moving along this easy paved trail for an enjoyable walk or run.
I love how easy Lake Hefner Trail is for those looking for a nice, flat stroll! If you’re looking for a hike that is more of a nature trail, check out our previous featured article “9 Incredible Hikes Under 5 Miles Everyone In Oklahoma Should Take” for some great hiking options.
